Mamilas Gustativas (spanish wordplay on ´taste buds´) it's a cookbook of female memoirs; a tribute and a collection of essential recipes from the author's childhood. This emotional fold-out fanzine, now in its second edition, brings back memories of being raised by strong women teaching Mrs. Valarezo, through food, who she was and who'll she become.

It's also a homage to her insatiable appetite, although restrained because of shameful stereotypes dictating how a woman should look, act and eat. Mamilas Gustativas exists to help us remember those dishes that make us sigh and fly straight to places and people we love.

Gabriela Valarezo, born in Quito, Ecuador, is a graphic and food designer, one of the first women in the country to address the connections between food, memory and identity.
